After breakfast, transfer (165 km east of Hanoi) to Halong Bay that is listed as a World Heritage Area due to its outstanding natural beauty. “Dragon descending to the sea” as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Halong Bay has more than 1,000 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes (caves). ARRIVE HANOI
Meet on arrival at Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport, transfer to hotel for check in. Rest of the day is at your leisure. In the evening you will attend a performance of the famous Vietnamese traditional art of water puppetry at Thang Long Theatre.

HANOI-HALONG BAY

HALONG BAY-HANOI
Free at leisure in the morning to visit the Halong Beach until driven back to Hanoi. A stop will be made along the way for rest, shopping and lunch. Afternoon : Free to go shopping at Hanoi's Old Quarter or also known as the 36 Streets. This is a very crowded and noisy area due to the many shops and stalls that sell a variety of of local food, household goods, handicrafts and fashion items such as silk, clothes, and jewellery.
Dinner at local restaurant.

 | Day 4
HANOI-TAM COC-HOA LU-HANOI
Your full day starts with a drive (110km) to south of Hanoi for Tam Coc (3 Caves) to visit “Halong Bay On Land” - the same limestone rocks as in Halong Bay but seen from a winding stream through paddy fields instead of the sea. During your trip on a small boat (paddled by the local residents) to the three caves, the sight of jagged limestone hills towering over the landscape is simply magnificent.
After lunch, drive to the ancient capital of Hoa Lu for the relics and remains of two temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, who are accredited for Vietnam's golden age in the 10th century.
Transfer back to Hanoi. Dinner is served at a local restaurant.

 | Day 5
DEPART HANOI
After breakfast, a half-day Hanoi city tour starts with a visit to Ho Chi Minh’s House, Museum and outside of his Mausoleum (closed on Monday & Friday). Later, among other sights, are the One-Pillar Pagoda, and Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century as Vietnam’s first university. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
Free time until transferred to Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport for your onward flight. Note : City tour can be changed to first day if arrival is in the morning.
